Project Fit America Curriculum
Core Curriculum:
Created by former Project Fit America grant recipients for future Project Fit America grant recipients. Lessons have Essential Questions for students as well as NASPE standards for each lesson are clearly identified.
The PFA program is designed to be a permanent program in each school developed, as the need to get children fit will never diminish. PFA will work with your sponsorship to fully train the teaching staff and integrate the program into the school curriculum. At the end of the program, the school will be able to run PFA without any outside intervention. Your school(s) will join the nearly 1,000 PFA schools across the country that use PFA well beyond the two-year sponsorship as part of their regular school day activities. Years from now you will see PFA in action with your sponsored school serving generations of kids.
Curriculum Lesson Plan Support Supplies:
From our Year End Teacher Evaluations of this program we have learned what are the most popular lesson plans and provide schools with the materials they need to run those lessons. The day after our on site in-service, teachers can start using the lessons because they do not have to make and/or purchase the support materials on their own time or at their expense. These include the following:
- 6 Sets laminated skeleton bones
- 1 PE music CD for the dance component
- Pacer CD-Progressive Aerobic Cardiovascular Endurance Run
- Bank of Play Money
- Fitness Task cards. All 26 letters of the alphabet and 3 “starter words” per letter
- Starter Kit Chart and Challenge Wall Headers for fitness challenges throughout the year
- Building Blocks of Fitness Wall Posters
*We provide free certificates and ribbons. Each school receives a starter kit of 25 of each and then call in for supplies as needed. Last year we gave out over 60,000 certificates and ribbons! If they are running programming we will keep them in supplies.
