Pearl Upper Ribbon Curring

Pearl Upper Elementary recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its Project Fit America playground equipment. Funding was provided by a grant from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mississippi Foundation. Deanna Butler with the Mississippi Army National Guard, Pearl Schools superintendent Ray Morgigno, Upper Principal Joan Ishee, U.S. Congressman Gregg Harper, Estelle Watts from the Mississippi Department of Education’s Office of Healthy Schools, Pearl School Board President Sondra Odom, Gwen Hales with the City of Pearl’s Parks and Recreation Dept., Upper P.E. teacher Brenda Stokes, and Howard Ballou with WLBT.

Pear Upper Dedication

Pearl Upper Elementary fifth grade student Caden Harrell was the winner of the Project Fit America poster contest. The posters illustrated the benefits of exercise and a healthy lifestyle. Funding for the Project Fit playground equipment was provided by a grant from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mississippi Foundation. Pictured with Caden is Sheila Grogan with Blue Cross Blue Shield.
