First Lady Barbour attends Project Fit America event at West Amory Elementary School

First Lady Marsha Barbour made a stop at West Amory Elementary School today to help kick-off the Project Fit America project.

"On behalf of my husband, Governor Haley Barbour, we commend you on all that you've done," Barbour said as she presented a proclamation. "It takes a lot to get make things like this happen."

The Project Fit America is a program funded through Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Mississippi. The schools participating in the program are West Amory Elementary, East Amory Elementary and Amory Middle School. The schools received grant money to purchase new exercise equipment and for exercise education.

Barbour joined City of Amory elected officials and local members of the state legislature in launching the program.
