Indoor Equipment

Fitness Cups

Indoor Mobile Fitness Equipment. Our Indoor fitness equipment is mobile as indoor facilities vary from school to school. Some have gyms, other use multipurpose rooms, and so on. Our indoor equipment is comprised of the following:

1,000 Cardio Cups - These are fitness cups for explosive cardio, team work, challenge and cooperation with the kids. These cups are a PFA innovation and are for cup building, not cup stacking. The cups are used as "currency" the kids earn for a variety of fitness activities. The more they work out = more cups they earn. They go nuts cup building and work harder and longer doing fitness activities.

Sport HoopsA Squad set of 5 Sport Hoops
- The hoops are 3 pounds in weight, multicolored and feel like wetsuit material. Great for sustaining upper body strength training, cardio, and abdominal training and development.

Curriculum and Lesson Plans

The curriculum is not to replace any existing curriculum. We have two curricula:

The first is the Broad Based ideal for classroom teachers and non-physical education teachers. Each teacher will receive a curriculum germane to the grade level students they teach. This book focuses exclusively on the outdoor station equipment to ensure a "safety first" campus as all teachers will understand the correct technique for using the outdoor equipment and can supervise recess and lunch student usage. There are also 4 well being/health units with lesson plans that center around nutrition, smoking intervention, understanding your body and exercise. The lessons are clusters by grades 1-2, 2-4, 5-6, 7-12.

The second is our Core Curriculum. It was written by Master PE Teachers and former Grant Recipients for future Project Fit America PE Teacher/Grant Recipients. This book has lessons by chapter for each piece of equipment donated as well as going beyond the lesson plan to include character development, cross curricular lessons, after school programs, fitness clubs etc. NASPE standards for each lesson are clearly identified. This book has also been approved by the Science Committee of the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, a partnership between the American Heart Association and the William J. Clinton Foundation.

HoopsCurriculum Lesson Plan Support Supplies

From our Year End Teacher Evaluations of this program we have learned what are the most popular lesson plans and provide schools with the materials they need to run those lessons. The day after our on site in-service, teachers can start using the lessons because they do not have to make and/or purchase the support materials on their own time or at their expense. These include the following:

  • 6 Sets laminated skeleton bones.
  • 1 PE music CD for the dance component.
  • Pacer (Progressive Aerobic Cardiovascular Endurance Run) Cadence CD - This activity provides outstanding cardio training where kids shuttle run to a "beeped' cadence. As they increase their cardio, the beeps get faster to maintain challenge and increase levels.
  • We also provide certificates and ribbons for student reward and incentive.*
  • A "starter kit" Word Wall for key terms and phrases which provides all the letters of the alphabet and 3 words for each letter.
  • A "starter kit for Wall Charts. This is a hallway and/or gym display that will have the students name and accomplishments for various fitness challenges each school semester displayed

*We provide certificates and ribbons for free. Each school receives a starter kit of 25 of each and then call in for supplies as needed. Last year we gave out over 60,000 certificates and ribbons! If they are running programming we will keep them in supplies.
