It is starting to get a little crazy around here. It is Fall Launch 2010 and we are cooking on all four burners!!! We will be working in some form or another with over 1,000 schools doing work in the following areas:
PE Conferences
We are hosting free PE Conferences for all our current and past grant recipient schools in 8 cities to update their lessons and bring innovative activities that are sure to pump up their kids and boost the PE Teachers in a major way! New Grant Recipient School Launches & Opening Day Kickoffs
We are launching Project Fit America programming with schools in 20 cities.
As we speak our select group of All Star Teachers, now PFA Trainers as well, are traveling to these cities to work on site with the PE Teachers to train them on how to use the PFA program and incorporate lessons and activities into their school plan. After that, we get the party started and will be working with each community to plan a Media Day and Opening Day Kick Off to profile their PE programs. Parents, district officials, our Sponsors, state, civic leaders and the community all take part in these spotlight events that celebrate PE in schools and kids getting fit!
New Funding and Grant Program Launches
We have just launched a statewide Grant Program in Mississippi with all 600 plus schools, grades 1-8 eligible with funding from the Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi Foundation. The deadline for application submission to PFA is October 25, 2010
We are launching another Grant Program with funds from Sutter Roseville/Sutter Auburn Faith Hospitals for all public elementary and middle schools in the county. The deadline for application submission to PFA is November 5, 2010
PepsiRefresh! National Voting Campaign
Kentucky Health Foundation submitted a proposal that was accepted to Pepsi Refresh! to bring Project Fit America to schools in Greenup County, Kentucky. It is a $250,000.00 grant and voting starts October 1, 2010.
PFA’s National Fund Development Campaign for new schools in 2011
We are kicking off our national fund development campaign to bring in more funding and sponsorship for new schools so they can have the support and resources they so richly deserve to help our nation’s youth become active, fit and healthy!
We are hitting the ground running (pun intended) and will keep you updated on all the action. Every event, every school, every teacher, every sponsor, every red faced, sweaty, smiling and happy faced fit kid is the stuff we live for around here!!!!
Have already done/had a great in-service at Fox Hill Elem in KC. Now I am looking forward to meeting/presenting PFA at Washington Elem in Schiller Park, IL. Busy, exciting and fun!
I just worked in Mississippi(Delta State grad students who rocked!)and Missouri (a ton of energized phys ed teachers) So much fun! So that others get this experience, we have ALL got to vote on the pepsi national voting campaign!! Vote daily!!!!
