A southeastern Kentucky teacher is celebrating a national award.

Melinda Wynn, who works for the Youth Services Center at Corbin Intermediate Schools, received the 2014 National All Star Teacher of the Year award from Project Fit America, an organization that creates fitness programs in schools. "I am totally overwhelmed," Wynn said. "I had absolutely no idea and they kept it under wraps. I'm very surprised. Very honored, but very surprised." Click to see video

Baton Rouge teacher wns national award!
WAFB News - Baton Rouge, LA

A Baton Rouge P.E. teacher was surprised Wednesday with a national award. Ms. Bonnie Richardson at the Foreign Language Academic Immersion School is now Project Fit America's teacher of the year. Representatives from Baton Rouge Mayor-President Kip Holden's Office and local hospitals recognized Richardson for her lessons in getting kids moving.
